TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- The case against a U.S. citizen who was arrested by the Border Patrol after asking for the names of agents she says harassed her has been dropped.

Shena Gutierrez, of California, was traveling back and forth between Nogales, Arizona, and Nogales, Sonora, for a vigil protesting abuse by agents on May 24. Gutierrez was wearing a t-shirt with a photo of her husband, a deportee who was beaten by agents in San Luis, Arizona when he tried to re-enter the U.S.

Gutierrez says she was harassed by agents. When she later asked for their names to file a complaint, she and two other activists were arrested and cited with disobeying a federal officer.

Customs and Border Protection, the Border Patrol's parent agency, has not responded to requests for comment.
