TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State University police are looking for a suspect who attacked a female student in a campus parking garage.

Late Sunday afternoon, the victim was headed to her car on the third floor of the parking structure on Rural and Apache, when a man approached her.

Police say the suspect forced the woman into her car. When she fought back, he reportedly threw her onto the ground, snatched her purse from inside the car.

The student was able to flee on foot down a stairwell. Police say she suffered a bloody nose and cuts and on her leg.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, about five feet, nine inches tall, and weighing 180 lbs. The victim says he had brown shaggy hair and a pointed jaw line. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with horizontal stripes, blue jeans and black winter gloves.

No weapons were seen, and police don’t know if the suspect had a vehicle.

ASU police are warning students to always use the “buddy system” while on campus after dark, and to keep their doors locked.
