TEMPE, Ariz -- Firefighters were called to a dorm on ASU's Tempe campus after a fire broke out in a room on the sixth floor.
The fire was in the Palo Verde East dorm building and apparently started in a trash can.
A Tempe Fire Department investigator tells The Associated Press the fire activated a sprinkler on the sixth floor of the dorm building in the 500 block of East University Drive around 10:30 a.m., Monday.
The fire caused some minor damage. About 70 to 100 students were forced to evacuate.
There were no injuries.
