PHOENIX -- She's a sweet, furry friend who's looking for a new forever home.
Duchess is a three-year-old American bulldog mix who has been overlooked at the Arizona Animal Welfare League shelter for months.
"She's very gentle, she's very loving," says Emily Sinur of the AAWL.
Duchess came in with seven puppies, and they have all been adopted. Now it's her turn. She is part of the AAWL's "Dog Days of Summer Special," which takes $50 off the adoption fee for all dogs over six months old. The special runs through the end of August.
Duchess has been spayed and is ready to find a new family. "She's very strong," says Sinur. "But she's very, very mellow. She's one of those gentle giant, couch-potato girls, who would enjoy cuddling on the couch and watching TV. But she's also a big, strong girl who would love to go for walks and hikes, too."
