YUMA — Yuma County authorities have made an arrest in a fatal shooting March 13.

The Sheriff's Office said it responded to a shots fired call and when deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as Eric Winkelman, 33, of Yuma, was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Winkelman's 2008 Toyota pickup was reported stolen. The pickup's Arizona license number is AFN 6975.

Sheriff's Office investigators served a number of search warrants during the investigation. One of the persons of interest contacted was Ronnie Quijada, 29, of Yuma. On March 18, Quijada was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Jail on drug and weapons charges.

On Wednesday, investigators working with the County Attorney's Office, filed formal charges of first-degree homicide on Quijada.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
