PHOENIX -- Four people were displaced after their north Phoenix home caught fire Friday morning.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra said a fire truck was leaving a medical call shortly before noon when crews noticed smoke in the area of Cave Creek and Greenway roads and called for additional resources.
Multiple reports including a life alert activation indicated a person might be stuck inside the house.
While searching the house, firefighters encountered obstacles including an attached guest quarters and partial roof collapse, Saavedra said. They found no occupants.
Saavedra said an adult man and his two children lived in the front portion of the rental home and an elderly woman with medical conditions lived in the back portion.
No injuries were reported.
Phoenix fire crisis teams are assisting the occupants.
Saavedra is reminding families to have an escape plan for their homes in case of emergency.
