Dirt cheap coffee

06:00 PM Mountain Standard Time on Friday, October 28, 2005

By Gary Harper / 3TV reporter

Most of us like to have a hot cup of coffee in the morning, but where's the cheapest place in the Valley to score that coffee?

While making your own coffee is the absolute cheapest way to go, every once in a while you like to buy coffee on the go.

However, a cup of coffee shouldn't break you.

If you're looking for joe on the go, try any QT in the Valley.

"We get customers who stop by several times a day just for our coffee," said Gary Mootz, a spokesman for QT.

And there's no wonder, a 16-ounce cup of coffee will run you only 89 cents.

"We've always tried to have the best prices and the best coffee in town," he said.

Mootz said you'll get a lot more than your standard java.

In fact, there are so many flavors, it's simply hard to choose and the word is apparently getting out.

Circle K is the next cheapest at $1.19.

At Essenza Coffee House in Mesa, expect to pay only $1.31.

At Coffee Plantation and Dunkin' Donuts, your coffee is going to take a jump to $1.75.
