PHOENIX -- A 3-year-old boy is expected to be OK after being pulled from a swimming pool in the Daisy Mountain area, according to Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Joaquin Enriquez.
The boy and his family were at their relatives' home near 24th Street and the Carefree Highway.
He was reportedly under water for about two minutes before his family pulled him out and began CPR.
Enriquez said the boy was breathing and had a pulse.
"Not often do we actually arrive on scene and hear crying," said Daisy Mountain Fire Capt. Dave Wilson. "So for us, when we hear crying, it's typically a good sign."
He was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital in critical condition.
Enriquez said there are no charges pending.
