PHOENIX -- Silent Witness is offering a reward to help identify three suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Phoenix smoke shop.
At approximately 11:40 a.m. on May 17, two of the suspects entered the Smoke Shop Market on 32nd Street between Thomas and McDowell roads and asked to see a phone, according to police.
The employee handed the phone to the first suspect and he made a call. At this time, the third suspect entered the store and grabbed the cellphone. The employee attempted to get the phone back and the third suspect pulled a gun from his waistband then punched the employee, according to police.
The second suspect also pulled out a gun and they both pointed their guns at the employee.
Police said the third suspect handed his gun to the second suspect and tried to get the employee to fight him. The employee did not fight and the suspects fled the scene, possibly in a blue Dodge Charger.
The suspects are described as three Hispanic males. One suspect was described as 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build and unshaven. The second suspect was described as 35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and a goatee. The third suspect was described as 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds with a goatee.
The incident was caught on surveillance video, which police released on Tuesday.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org.
