HEBER-OVERGAARD, Ariz. -- Three people were on board when a small plane crashed Saturday morning in eastern Arizona.

The single-engine Cessna wrecked at the Mogollon Airpark near Heber-Overgaard around 7 a.m.

All three people on board made it out uninjured.

The pilot reportedly thought the plane was malfunctioning while picking up speed along the runway and hit the brakes, causing it to crash right at takeoff.

The plane caught fire and caused a small brush fire in the area.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
