CHANDLER -- Police say three Chandler teens were arrested after a night of crime.
Chandler police Detective David Ramer said two 16-year-olds were looking to burglarize cars when they spotted a vehicle near Chandler Boulevard and Commonwealth Avenue with a key in the ignition. The suspects stole the vehicle and then picked up a 15-year-old to continue their burglary plans.
Ramer said the 15-year-old had a gun with him.
The suspects then burglarized a vehicle in the area of Frye and Cooper roads.
Ramer said one of the 16-year-olds saw someone standing near a front window of the home where they were stealing the car. He took the gun from the 15-year-old and fired one shot at the resident. No one was injured.
According to Ramer, the suspects fled in the stolen vehicle to a field near Chandler Boulevard and McQueen Road where they set the car on fire.
Officers found the three suspects leaving the scene and took them into custody.
Numerous charges have been filed with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, including second-degree attempted homicide.

Any news where the parents of these children were? If the parents are receiving state aide, that should be revoked the MOMENT one of these children commits a crime! It's a vicious circle, steal from the state, steal from the nieghbor. Get a public defender (free) get out with a slap on the wrist and a couple community service hours and the cycle starts again. I for one am tired of these little punks running around owning our streets. Thankfully, the homeowner wasn't hurt!
