PHOENIX -- The 2013 Arizona State Fair is coming to town Oct. 11 to Nov. 3 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds, 19th Avenue and McDowell Road.
The 129th annual state fair will feature a variety of new and returning rides, exhibits and foods for fairgoers. Some new attractions include Star Trek: The Exhibition, The Great American Duck Race, Tyzen the Hypnotist, Secret Circus, Cartoon Alley Demonstrations and six new Midway rides. The fair will also have two new areas for a range of ages, The Hangout for adults and Play Space for kids 8 years old and under.
Other activities at the fair include Native Spirit Dancers, the Great American Petting Zoo, the Arizona State Fair 5K and Fun Run, and Beerfest presented by Hensley Craft Beer Division.
With a paid fair admission, guests can enjoy performances by entertainers from multiple genres and generations.

During Youth Week Oct. 23-27, Arizona's youth can participate in competitions and share their accomplishments. Children ages 5 to 14 can participate in the Read & Ride Program, which promotes literacy among Arizona youth. They can earn three ride passes after reading three books.
