TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A 2-year-old boy has drowned at a Tucson apartment complex.
Fire Capt. Barrett Baker says an adult found the child in a hot tub in a gated pool area Monday evening and that another adult started to perform CPR.
Fire personnel then arrived and took over but efforts to resuscitate the child were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Baker says the drowning is the first for the year in the city of Tucson and the third water fatality in Pima County this year. According to the Drexel Heights Fire District, those include two involving children.
