SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The bodies of two people -- a man and a woman -- were found in a Scottsdale home early Wednesday morning and police believe it might have been a murder-suicide stemming from domestic violence.

The initial 911 call came at about 5 a.m. That caller reported a shooting in the area northwest of 104th Street and Cactus Road.

According to Sgt. Mark Clark of the Scottsdale Police Department, the couple's adult son woke up to the sound of gunfire. When he went to check it out, he found his parents dead in their bedroom. He then called 911.

"At this point, we do believe that it's contained within the house," Clark said. "It's a domestic-violence incident. As far as exactly what the involvement of everybody in the house was, that's what we're going to try to figure out throughout the day."

Officers are not looking for a suspect.

Detectives are gathering evidence as they work to piece together what happened leading up to the shooting.

"We have what the son is telling us happened," Clark said.

Investigators have not released the couple's name, but they will be digging into their lives to try and determine what was going on in the days and hours before the shooting.

It's not clear if there is a history of domestic violence in the home.

Information will be updated as it develops.
