PHOENIX - The rain is letting up after two days of downpours in the Valley.   The cold, wet weather caused minor inconveniences, but no major problems.

Tuesday night, Peoria Police closed a section of Northern Avenue at 112th Avenue due to flooding.  Drivers were easily able to get around the closed area using nearby streets.

Gila River Police reported several washes flooded, and warned drivers to avoid standing water on the roads.

Governor Brewer’s staff postponed a planned Centennial Celebration set for Wednesday morning.   The ground where a saguaro cactus was supposed to be planted at the Capitol was too muddy.

In Downtown Phoenix, the ice rink at CityScape was closed Tuesday night, also due to rain.
