PHOENIX – Police are searching for two suspects in a shooting at a West Phoenix hotel that left one person in critical condition.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Travelers Inn at 51st Avenue and Interstate 10.

According to police, two men knocked on the door of the victim's room. A short time later, other hotel guests reported hearing a gunshot. The wounded man then made his way to the hotel lobby where he asked for help. That's where police found him.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. At last check, he was in critical condition.

At this point, police have not released any suspect information nor have they said anything about the victim. They do, however, believe that the men might have been acquainted.

Investigators were still on the scene nearly 12 hours later, trying to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. They have not determined a motive nor do they know how the victim and the suspects might have been connected.

While the suspects are on the loose, police told 3TV's Jill Galus that they believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to other hotel guests or area residents.
