PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix police say a man who appears to have shot a woman as part of a murder-suicide pact will face charges.
Authorities say the 44-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were found Friday at about 2:30 p.m. inside an apartment near 25th Street and Greenway Road with gunshot wounds.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say evidence at the scene indicates the man fatally shot the victim but then became the victim of a failed suicide attempt. They say the two lived together at that apartment.
Authorities plan to book the man into jail once he is released from the hospital.
