Enthusiasm, vision, focus and the desire to learn and improve are the keys to Ed Breunig’s achievements. He bought a thriving 16 year-old business from his father in 1999 along with business partner, Ron Hernandez. From his father’s successful foundation (called EBCO Inc, which stands for Ed Breunig & Company), Ed and Ron have built the premier La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries organization in the country. Currently they are operating stores in Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Chandler, Scottsdale and Flagstaff. In 2004, three of their retail stores ranked in the top 10 La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores nationally. The Glendale, AZ store finished as the number one store in the country, the Mesa, AZ store finished as the number two store in the country and the Scottsdale, AZ store finished as the number eight store in the country

La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries is one of the world’s most recognizable household brand names. Once starting out as a chair gallery, today the beautiful “Store of Tomorrow” boasts 20,000 square foot showrooms specializing inLiving Room and Family Room environments. Ed also created the very innovative and successful in-home design concept in his stores. Customers can receive complimentary in-home design assistance from professional interior designers. To date, the design team has assisted with over 5,000 customer projects.

The company’s focus statement is CKS, which stands for Caring, Knowledge & Service. This is practiced by the entire staff of 200 people. The company culture at EBCO stresses knowledge and awareness, fun and enjoyment, and respect and responsibility. Liked and respected by both their employees and peers in the furniture industry, many seek Ed & Ron’s advice and input. They have been invited to be members of special La-Z-Boy committees for merchandising and new store development, as well, as computer steering councils. In addition, Ed and his staff teach a course as part of the La-Z-Boy University attended by the network of stores in the US and Canada.

EBCO is also involved in the community. The company cause is all about the safety and welfare of children. La-Z-Boy has a corporate safety program called “Be Safe”. This program stresses the importance of children’s safety when it comes to ‘stranger danger’. To further this program, EBCO approached Phoenix Children’s Hospital for an educational partnership four years ago. Today, EBCO is a partner of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, with emphasis on the Injury Prevention Center and Water Watchers Program.

Ed and his wife, Vona, have three wonderful sons. He spends a lot of time with family and friends, while somehow finding energy to participate in many community activities. Currently he serves as a coach for Pop Warner Football and coaches on a Gilbert National Little League baseball team.

Ron and his wife, Carol, have 3 grown children. They enjoy spending time in San Diego and traveling abroad. Ron enjoys the game of rugby and they both enjoy playing golf.
