COCHISE COUNTY – A woman is accused of injecting two kids with insulin to prevent them from crying.

According to the Arizona Daily Star, a Cochise County woman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly injecting insulin into a 2-month-old baby. Authorities say the medical staff reported seeing a similar incident involving the infant’s 18-month-old sister on the first week of December.

Lisa Marie White, 41, reportedly admitted she injected the 2-month-old with 0.5 cc of her insulin. She lived in the same home as the children but is not a relative.

The baby was taken to a Tucson hospital after being treated for low blood sugar and respiratory issues at the Northern Cochise Community Hospital in Willcox. Doctors in Tucson noticed the baby had extremely high insulin levels and contacted police.

The infant was given medical treatment and was released to his parents. White faces attempted first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond.
