MIAMI, Ariz. -- Detectives and FBI agents are turning to the public for help finding the man who claimed to have a bomb while robbing a Miami bank on Christmas Eve.

According to Silent Witness, the suspect, a Hispanic or dark-skinned man, rode a bike up to Bank of the West shortly after 10 a.m. on Dec. 24.

The suspect, apparently in disguise, entered the bank, walked up to a teller and placed what he said was a bomb on the counter. The man then demanded money.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect then left the scene on his bicycle. The man was only in the bank for a couple of minutes. Police later found the suspect's bike not far from the bank.

Bomb technicians with the Department of Public Safety determined the device the man left on the counter was a hoax bomb.

Nobody was injured in the course of the robbery.

A surveillance camera inside the bank caught the entire incident on video.(Click video player above to watch.)

The suspect is 5 feet 9 inches or 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a wig of long, curly black hair. He also was wearing sunglasses, a maroon flannel button-up shirt, black gloves over yellow gloves, and a yellow and black baseball cap with an M on the front and the word Michigan on the back.

If you have any information about this robbery or the suspect, call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377), 1-800-343-TIPS (8477) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446).

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Miami is adjacent to Globe in Gila County, a little more than 90 minutes east of Phoenix.
