AVONDALE, Ariz. -- A plane had to make an emergency landing near 99th Avenue and Indian School Road after it ran out of fuel Thursday afternoon.
Avondale police said the small plane was flying into Glendale Municipal Airport from southern Arizona when it ran out of fuel.
The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a dirt road. He was the only person on board and was uninjured. No one on the ground was hurt either.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident.
