FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The Coconino County Sheriff's Office said a 53-year-old woman who was reported missing has been located and reunited with her family.
A witness saw Kimberly B. Lindsey get into a maroon compact sedan in the area of the Sandy Seep Trailhead off Highway 89 north of Flagstaff at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The car headed northbound on Highway 89. The witness said it did not appear that she was physically forced into the vehicle.
On Tuesday, sheriff's deputies responded to the Sandy Seep Trailhead for a report of an abandoned recreational vehicle.
Deputies discovered that Lindsey had left the vehicle, which is registered in her sister's name, unlocked with the keys in the ignition. Her wallet, credit cards, medication and cellphone were inside the vehicle.
Sheriff's office spokesman Gerry Blair said Lindsey was located Wednesday afternoon at a residence in Tuba City where the homeowners were caring for her and attempting to find out were she was from.
Blair said Lindsey was disoriented but uninjured. She was transported back to Flagstaff where she was reunited with her family.
