Testosterone Replacement Therapy

“I thought at first everyone talks about mid-life crisis and you're 40, mid-40s and I guess you just accept that and you start rearranging your day,” Jerry Hassman said.

For the past four years, Hassman, 47, would find that he was constantly drinking coffee to make it through the day. He never had any energy and could hardly sleep.

“It was one of two things,” he said. “If didn't have a low testosterone count, then I really felt if it came back normal that I needed to see a psychiatrist."

“Most men who have low testosterone they complain of low energy,” said Dr. Johny Michael Mitias of Ageless Men’s Health. “They complain about being tired, they're irritable, they complain about not being able to do things they used to do, whether it is athletics or at work. They have trouble sleeping and they complain of their libido diminishing.”

Ageless Men's Health in Scottsdale is a facility that specializes in testosterone replacement therapy. When Hassman heard about this place, he was willing to try anything to get his life back.

“We draw your blood and check your testosterone and your PSA and multiple other blood work as necessary,” Mitias said. “If you’re low, we can start treatment and then monitor your blood levels periodically. We do it every month until we get your testosterone level where it needs to be.”

The testosterone replacement therapy is done by injection and can be given every seven, 10 or 14 days. Once back to a normal level, Mitias said men need to continue doing the therapy on a regular basis.

“They have to stay with it otherwise it will drop and then you'll be back feeling bad again,” he continued.

Hassman has been coming to the facility for more than two months. He said he got results in less than two days.

“It started with the fact that I didn't fall asleep when I got home from work then I slept normally throughout the night,” he continued.

In fact, Hassman feels so good now, that playing with his 7-year-old is a breeze and he even feels like exercising again.

“Just trying to build my endurance back up so I can get to a point where I can start lifting weights again,” Hassman said. “And once I do that, I'll lose the body fat and that will lower blood pressure.”

“This is the fuel to change your life,” Mitias said. “So use it and get back in shape and healthy again.”
