Exercises to help reduce back fat
12:38 PM Mountain Standard Time on Friday, December 14, 2007
Former Arizona State University Sun Devil Chelie Hill wasn't always overweight.
"I gained most of my freshman 45 in college," she said. "I discovered wine and cheese pizza and one day I was just like, 'no one told me I'm fat.'"
By her senior year, she weighed 240 pounds.
Once she started working out at Epiphany Fitness and Beauty in Tempe, she says the weight started to fall off, but she and others say one of the hardest spots to tone is that area on your upper back where your bra strap sits.
"I don't think there's a woman on the planet who wants to have back fat," Hill said.
And owner Howard Fields wants to help us ladies look buff not bumpy in our sleek holiday dresses.

While he admits there's no way to truly lose weight only in only one spot, he says there are exercises that will slim the midsection.
One you can do at home is the Superman. A few sets of these every day and you're on your way to a beautiful back.
Then there are the free-weight lifts. Three sets of 12 should do the trick three to four times a week.
Last, free-weight pulls. Three sets of 12 should work.
East Valley resident Laura Demovich just wanted to fit into a pair of short-shorts when she came to Epiphany Fitness. She ended up losing 60 pounds, including her back fat.
She was so motivated with how she looked, this once shy lady decided to enter a fitness contest.
As for Hill, she feels like she's won the best prize of all on the stage of life.
"I feel great, I feel empowered, I feel strong, I feel sexy, I feel like I should have felt like this 20 years ago," she said.
Epiphany also has a nutrition program that basically tells you what to eat and how much at each meal, so there's no guesswork.
