We all have our trouble spots -- certain areas where the fat never seems to come off.

Well, a new procedure might do the trick.

This new procedure promises to melt the fat away and it doesn't hurt a bit.

Juan Guerrero was having problems getting rid of the extra weight in his chin. While he works out on a regular basis, it never seemed to go away. So when he heard about a procedure that might be able to slim down that area, he was all for it.

"This therapy appealed to me for the simple fact that I'm not under the knife," Guerrero said. "There's no swelling and there's no infection."

Adipose therapy involves injecting small amounts of a natural fat emulsifier into the fat layer, just beneath the skin.

"It breaks down the fat cell membranes so that the liquid fat inside the cell can seep out and get absorbed into the lymphatic system," explained Dr. Harolyn Gilles with Bio Matrix M.D.

Gilles said adipose therapy is painless and doesn't require anesthesia. It can treat the chin, love handles and areas of fat located on someone's back.

"The beauty of the procedure is it's a permanent remediation because we are killing the fat cells," Gilles said.

The doctor said each area being treated requires four injections, which are spread out over two weeks.

To see good results she recommends at least four treatments.

Guerrero said he could tell a difference in his chin after only two.

For Ruth Rogerson, she's already seeing progress in her love handles.

"I have noticed about an inch loss in the love handles," Rogerson said.

Gilles said while people are pleased with the results she wants to make clear that this is not a solution for weight loss.

"I do recommend nutritional counseling and exercise counseling right along with this," Gilles said. "So that we can do the sculpting, but they can do the main body of the work, which is keeping their bodies healthy."

Gilles said some side effects can include a burning sensation, swelling and bruising.

The cost is $200 and up.
