Target Heart Rate
The YMCA recommends working out at a rate of 55 percent to 85 percent of maximal heart rate. Your physician may recommend a different range for you.
You should try to work out at your target heart rate for 20 to 30 minutes each exercise session.
To check your heart rate, take your pulse for 10 seconds then multiply by 6.
