PHOENIX - Early this morning thousands of folks lined up to the starting line for the March of Dimes March for Babies. Rain or shine there were generations of supporters from grandparents to babies, all walking for a good cause.
3TV and azfamily.com were honored to partner with the March of Dimes. The March for Babies holds a special place in the heart of 3TV staffers as several 3TV members are mothers that have had experiences with premature babies and infant screenings. 3TV's Tess Rafols, Gina Maravilla and others share their personal stories.
Other 3TV hard working mothers were on-hand to host, walk and report the festivities including Carey Peña, mom of ten month old twins Julian and London, April Warnecke mom to one year old son Greer and Gina Maravilla mom to five year old son Taylor and three year old daughter Kennedy. But, the big thank you goes to all the walkers and supporters because even with the rain and 40 degree temperatures the attendance increased by 75% from year to year with approximately 4,000 walkers.
