SCOTTISH HIGHLAND GAMES
The 49th Annual Arizona Scottish Gathering and Highland Games takes place Saturday and Sunday at Steele Indian School Park. Visitors can enjoy traditional and modern Scottish tunes. DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
Tempe's town lake is going to be full of dragons this weekend. Dragon boats, that is! Not only will there be tons of boat races on Saturday and Sunday, but there will also be martial arts demonstrations, food vendors, musicians and dancers. FESTIVAL OF THE WEST
If you're a big western fan, then you'll want to go to where it's all all things western this weekend. Westworld of Scottsdale is holding its Festival of the West event Thursday through Sunday. KITE FLYING FESTIVAL
The skies over Fountain Hills will be crowded on Saturday. That's because the 11th annual Kite Flying Festival is taking place. It's being hosted by The Pakistani Information and Cultural Organization (PICO).  Folks can fly their kites from 11am to 6pm at Fountain Park in Fountain Hills. The event is known as Basant Mela which, for Pakistanis, represents the end of Winter and the welcoming of Spring.  It's a free event. COMPASSION WITH FASHION
The Arizona Humane Society is holding a fundraiser called Compassion with Fashion. It takes place Saturday, March 23 at 10:30 am at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa. Those who attend will be served lunch and can enjoy a fashion show, featuring some of the Arizona Humane Society's pets that are available for adoption. CELEBRITY FIGHT NIGHT
Some Hollywood stars and other celebrities are going to be in town this weekend. They'll be attending the annual Barrow Neurological's annual fundraiser. The event raises funds for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson's Center.  It's taking place at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa off Tatum Blvd. and Deer Valley Road. Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will be performing. ARIZONA GAME AND FISH OUTDOOR EXPO
Arizona's Game and Fish Outdoor Expo is this weekend. Folks will be able to catch and release fish in two of the fishing tanks, observe live wildlife exhibits, learn target archery and try out different firearms in a safe and controlled environment, along with many other activities. FALCON FIELD AIRPORT OPEN HOUSE
Aviation fans, get up close and person to some aircraft on Saturday.  The city of Mesa is holding its Falcon Field Airport Open House. GLENDALE FOLK & HERITAGE FESTIVAL
The Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival takes place March 23rd and 24th, at Sahuaro Ranch Park's historic area, located at 9802 N. 59th Ave. Enjoy bluegrass music, cowboy poetry and storytelling. There will also be hands-on work shops.  Visitors can bring their own instruments and join the performing musicians. The event is free.
