PHOENIX -- Thinking about getting a new car?  Buyers up for something adventurous might want to consider the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

Car expert Wally Cahill gave us the lowdown on the new vehicle. "It's trail tested and trail rated, and I took it as a challenge," says Cahill. "What I did was I took it out and I ran about 100 miles off-road with it. And this thing is very capable."

The steering wheel is thick and comfortable. It also has a 3G connection built-in. The vehicle has a partly-digital dashboard, and contains a seven-inch color screen.

"I'm really impressed with the reverse view out of that," he says. "Back here you can see it all. So no matter what's behind you, kids playing, animals, it's a pretty good safety feature."

Here are more features of the vehicle:

-Includes Everything on Latitude, Plus:
-Trail Rated® capability with Jeep® Active Drive Lock 4x4 system and locking rear axle
    -1-inch lift w/ off-road suspension / skid plates
    -17-inch off-road alum. wheels / all-terrain tires
    -Uconnect® 8.4-inch touchscreen w/ Bluetooth®
-Accent tow hooks, grille, off-road fascia, roof rail

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk starts at $24,495.
