PHOENIX --  As any parent knows, it can be tough to get picky kids to eat healthy foods.

On Friday's Good Morning Arizona, the owner of Luci's Healthy Marketplace had some tips for making sure your child's diet includes some healthy eats.

Lucia Schnitzer is a mother of four, and the owner of Luci's Healthy Marketplace on 16th Street and Bethany Home Road. She talked to April Warnecke about ways to help your kids eat healthy.

"You've got to give your child at least eight to15 times to try a particular food without giving up on it," she tells us. "Just keep on doing it, but cook it differently."

Having a "dip" is also key to enticing your child. "Dips, dips dips. Give them dips," Schnitzer says. "There are studies that show if you provide them with dips, they're going to eat a lot of their food."

She also suggests a healthy pizza, and letting kids top it with whatever they want.

As for snacks, how do you keep youngsters from reaching for chips and candy? "The options are super-foods," Schnitzer says. "Nuts, berries, raisins. Those are really, really good, and they're loaded with antioxidants."

But the important thing is to not "sneak" in the healthy stuff. "Let them see the food they're eating," she says. "Don't sneak it. Put it in your ingredients but don't sneak it. Let them have a love for it. Let them join you in the kitchen. Let them cut the vegetables."

Luci’s Healthy Marketplace is a unique café, coffee bar and marketplace. It features quality organic and natural products from reputable local and regional vendors, including meats, seafood, dairy, cheeses, snacks, entrees, wine and beer, supplements, cosmetics, baby care, pet care, cleaning, gifts and more. A wide Variety of freshly-cooked meals are available throughout the day, as are fresh Grab and Go Menu items. Breakfast Menu items are served all day
