SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --   The fall season's fashion trends are finding their way from the runway into your favorite living spaces.

Heidi Tsuruta, the chief interior designer at Bungalow Furniture & Accessories in Scottsdale, says you should be looking at metallics, leather, bohemian, prints and indigo.

These trends add life to any room, she added.

If your walls are white or painted in those calming neutral earth tones, she says these elements have a nice way of giving your home a contemporary and warm edge.

Indigo offers a great way to add a fresh pop of blue to any room. Think old books with gold writing stacked on a mantle in this color. Pillows work well to tie things all together, too.

Tsuruta says these trends are meant to be added to your home in subtle ways. A few scattered pieces here and there will stand out and offer inspiration for conversation. Don't be afraid of searching around your home to find things you already have to re-purpose in other ways.

Wonder if you've gone too far? Tsuruta says she has a fail-proof test. Once a particular pattern overshadows any color scheme, the designer says it's time to try again.
