FIFA World Cup Hair Styles

Great Clips stylist Amber Cepkauskas is showing off 2014 men's summer hairstyles by introducing the popular pompadour cut as seen on many of the FIFA World Cup heroes such as Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, Neymar of host nation Brazil and our own Geoff Cameron of the U.S. squad.

The pompadour refers to a hairstyle named after Madame de Pompadour, mistress of King Louis XV in early 1700s. Pompadour wore her hair in a tall, slicked-back "poof" high over her forehead with tight-swept backsides. This style became popular again but with men in the late 1950s with  Elvis Presley.

Today, the pompadour has evolved and can be worn in various styles and is a very popular cut with celebrities and athletes alike, with many of today's popular soccer stars showing their style off at the World Cup. Ronaldo, the world's most recognized athlete and heartthrob of women everywhere, rocks the "gangster" version, which is still long on top and instead of standing tall, it slicks back and to the side revealing a distinct line where the long and short hair meet.

Other popular styles include the modern pompadour, which is high on top with slight volume, combed over with or without distinct line, and shaved on the sides. The Elvis style is high on top with volume, combed back to stand tall over the forehead, and faded on the sides.

With more than 3,300 salons throughout the United States and Canada, Great Clips is the world's largest salon brand. Great Clips salons employ nearly 30,000 stylists who receive ongoing training to learn advanced skills and the latest trends. Great Clips salon owners and corporate office are dedicated to giving back to the community  with a focus on philanthropic and volunteer activities. Adding more to your BBQ

Have a citrus, cottonwood or pecan tree in your backyard? Did you know you could be grilling with that wood to create amazing, restaurant-quality meats and seafood at home?

Chef Mark Hittle, executive chef of Bobby Q, shares with viewers how to use woodchips at home.

Line the bottom of a heavy roasting pan with the chips, and cover them with a rack so that the meat will be suspended above the smoky bed of chips. Then, pour enough water into the bottom of the pan to moisten the chips but not so much that you cover them. Ideally, soak the chips in the water ahead of time and add in even less water into the bottom of the roasting pan.

ALMOND - PAIRED WITH RIBS

A sweet smoke flavor, light ash. Good with all meats. Bobby Q currently uses Almond for the ribs, pork and brisket. The temperature from the Almond is very smooth (doesn't get super hot or burn out in a few hours like some woods).

MESQUITE - PAIRED WITH STEAK

Strong earthy flavor. Good with beef, fish, chicken, and game. One of the hottest burning woods.

Chef Mark loves to mix Mesquite with other woods for grilling. It makes the grill really hot which is good for searing in the flavors on steaks, while the other woods (like fruit woods) can infuse different flavors.

PECAN - PAIRED WITH PULLED PORK

Sweet and mild with a flavor similar to hickory. Good with poultry, beef and pork. Pecan is an all-around superior smoking wood for beginners and experienced smokers.

Bobby Q is offering a Fourth of July special. For $17.76, Bobby-Q is supplying revelers with four BBQ essentials to whipping up a slow-smoked feast, named The July Four. Available on to-go orders only, The July Four will include 1/2 lb. of hand-sliced smoked brisket, 1/2 lb. of seasoned pulled pork, four large BBQ buns, and a 5 oz. bottle of Bobby Q's signature BBQ sauce.
