The board will vote on whether or not to close or repurpose one or more of the following schools: Desert Springs Preparatory Elementary, Foothills Elementary, Sandpiper Elementary and/or Village Vista Elementary. A decision could also affect attendance boundaries for the following schools: Arrowhead, Desert Shadows, Indian Bend, Liberty, North Ranch and Whispering Wind.  The Governing Board shall hear reasons for and against closing any school.

Goodwill Hosts Job Fair
Peoria Sports Complex on Nov. 8
1,500 positions available

Goodwill of Central Arizona www.goodwillaz.org is partnering with the City of Peoria to host a Job Fair on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Peoria Sports Complex, located at 16101 N. 83rd Ave. 

The Job Fair will have workshops and discussions including how to use social media wisely in your job search, personal branding, effective interview and presentation skills and developing a career roadmap.  Companies such as PetSmart, Walmart, Pepsi Beverages and Fry's Food Stores will be on-site interviewing. 

There will also be an "Entrepreneurial Corner" so attendees can learn from advisors such as the Small Business Administration about how to start a business.

H&M will celebrate the grand opening of its newest store in Arizona at Chandler Fashion Center at noon. To celebrate opening day, H&M at Chandler Fashion Center will offer the first 100 shoppers in line an H&M t-shirt and Access to Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $300, in addition to other opening offers and fun giveaways!
