3rd Annual Diaper Drive for Crisis Nursery
Spooner Physical Therapy is hosting a diaper drive for Crisis Nursery. The goal is to collect 20,000 diapers. There is a diaper drop off 1907 W. Camelback ( at 19th Avenue and Camelback). Look for the big yellow bus. They will be collecting diapers until 2pm. After 2pm you can take the diapers to one of the Spooner Physical Therapy locations. Free Omelet Day
First Watch is hosting Free Omelet Day on Tuesday, October 9 from 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
All omelets on the menu will be free of charge and diners are asked to give a donation to St. Vincent de Paul.

St. Mary's Food Bank Food Shortage
St. Mary's needs food. There is a shortage since they have had to throw away peanut butter from Trader's Joes due to the recall. 
The food banks need the following items:

 Canned fruit and vegetables

RECIPE:

Black Forest Veal Rouladen
Ingredients:
4 slices ¼ inch thick Veal Butt
 ½ cup  Gorgonzola cheese
1 Granny Smith Apple, pealed and cored
1 bunch Asparagus
4 slices of  Black Forest Ham or smoked Ham
1 cup of beef stock
1 shot of Apple Schnapps
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste

Tenderize Veal to about 1/8 inch thickness, coat with juice of lemon, salt and pepper.
Blanch Asparagus in boiling salt water for 1 - 2 minutes, then place in ice bath and strain.
Slice apples thin and place in cold water until needed.
Ham should be deli-thin sliced

Prep:
Lay  Veal out on cutting board. Start with lemon juice, salt and pepper, add Gorgonzola cheese and spread evenly on veal. Add Apples, Ham, Asparagus and roll tightly.

Cooking:
Heat your skillet to very hot, add 2 tbsp oil (your choice) to hot pan and sear all sides and set aside.
Let cool for 5 minutes.
Next place Roulade tightly in baking dish and add ½ cup of Beef stock, 1 shot apple schnapps and water to cover. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until tender. Remove and drain liquid, but do not discard!
Put liquid in skillet and make pan gravy. Hold Rouladen in oven at 100 degrees until gravy is done, then pour over and serve.

Cooks Job Fair
There is a job fair  happening Tuesday, October 9th and Wednesday, October 10th at Sky Harbor airport. 15 new restaurants are looking for cooks. The job fair is from 9 a-m to 3 p-m located at terminal 3 on the second floor behind Sbarros. There is a $200 sign on bonus for line, saute and grill cooks!
