Excessive Heat Warning

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued an excessive heat warning
for the South Central Arizona Deserts. From 10:00am to 8:00pm Monday, June 2.
 
The affected area includes the Phoenix Metro area and surrounding lower deserts including
Gila Bend, Casa Grande, Coolidge, and other nearby areas. Temperature will reach highs from 
110-112 degrees. These temperatures can cause heat related illness, even death. Those working or playing outdoors, without air conditioning, or people sensitive to heat will need to take the proper
precautions. 
 
 
Mesa Hydration Center 
With temperatures about to hit triple digits on a regular basis, the City of Mesa is working with nonprofit  agencies and businesses to provide supplies of water to the homeless and unsheltered. The eighth annual Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign will begin Monday, June 2.  Residents will be asked to donate water at various drop-off locations throughout the city:

$1000 Scorpion Contest
To help face your fear of scorpions this summer, Bug & Weed Mart owners, are hosting the first ever Creepiest Scorpion Encounter contest. The winner with the creepiest story will be awarded $1,000 cash the week of June 30.
