Phoenix Lung Health Day Event
The Phoenix Lung Health Day Event, hosted at Pro's Ranch Market downtown at 1602 E. Roosevelt on Aug. 24, noon-4 p.m., will provide free COPD screenings, including spirometry tests and lung health consultations, with hopes of reaching the estimated 12 million Americans with COPD who remain undiagnosed.

What: Home coming party for Olympian Breeja Larson

Breeja Larson won the gold during the Women's 4x100m relay in the 2012 London Olympic games. Larson a Mesa native is currently a junior at Texas A&M University. A short presentation with speeches will begin at 10:30 a.m. At 11:15 a.m. Larson will perform a swimming demonstration and will be available for photos, interviews and autographs. The pool will be open to the public to swim until noon.
