PHOENIX -- Despite how warm it is right now, Arizona has already seen its first snowfall of the season. And the Arizona Department of Transportation is already hard at work to make sure our state's roads will be safe for drivers this winter.

On Wednesday's Good Morning Arizona, Tess Rafols joined us with some tips about what you need  to know before you hit the roads during treacherous or icy conditions.

Some tips: make sure to always carry an emergency preparedness kit, which should include water, blankets, gloves, an ice scraper, a flashlight and a first aid kit.
