PHOENIX -- It's all about turtle power this weekend, as the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters.

On Friday's Good Morning Arizona, the movie's executive producer joined Javier Soto for a sneak peek at the new film.

"These turtles are hilarious," says executive producer Napoleon Smith. "You just want to be entertained and go on a fun ride? This is the movie to do it."

In the 2014 reboot of the classic, darkness has settled over New York City, as Shredder and The Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil and her wise-cracking cameraman Vernon Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.

The film stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett and Johnny Knoxville.

Smith says the movie has been a labor of love for more than five years. "I've always wanted to be here. For me, this is like a dream come true," he says. "It's a kid's dream come true today."

Smith is predicting a great opening weekend. "Kids are just going to love this film," he says. "It's just awesome."

He also says parents will find plenty to enjoy in the movie as well. "They're the ones who secretly want to go to this one," he laughs,
