PHOENIX -- Severson Sisters is excited to host its first Severson Sisters Super Girl Ball on June 15.

Severson Sisters will guide Super Girls through a ceremony that starts with a promise they will make to themselves. At the end of the ceremony, all girls will be inaugurated as a Super Girl.

We will name four girls at the Ball as the 2012 Severson Sisters Outstanding Super Girls.

Severson Sisters is a bullying solutions and self-esteem organization that was formed to help address the significant impact of bullying, specifically, among girls.

The Severson Sisters program was developed specifically to meet the unique needs and interests of girls since statistics show that girls actually bully more than boys and they use very different tactics.

Unlike other programs that emphasize the negative aspects of bullying, the Severson Sisters approach focuses on infusing a positive energy into creative arts lessons that demonstrate the fulfillment of positive behaviors as an alternative to the negativity of bullying.

Nominations for Super Girls are still being accepted

Nominees are asked to select one of the four available categories. The categories are Education, Awareness, Playfulness and Inspiration. These are our core values and the Severson Sisters outreach programs involve all four qualities. Parents/guardians can nominate their Super Girl by sending in a 90 second video clip of their Super Girl by Sunday, June 10 to events@seversonsisters.org.
