PHOENIX -- Some of the biggest celebrity names wear Rebecca Taylor including Kate Middleton, Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon. The designer visited the set of Good Morning Arizona Friday to share some fall style tips and to talk about her black tie collection.
She visited the Saks Fifth Avenue store at Biltmore Fashion Park in Scottsdale Friday to meet customers.
“I love it. It’s my favorite thing to do, to actually come out to all our regional stores and meet everybody, meet the customers, see what she’s thinking, see what she’s needing,” Taylor said.
Taylor’s designs are known for their casual elegance. She showed two of her looks and shared some style tips.
Look #1: The first look featured a snake skin animal print.
“I’m really known for my leopard print, but this year we’re sort of updating it with the snake, python print,” Taylor said.
The pants were similar to a track pant, but were made of silk and python print which gave them a polished, casual feel, Taylor said. They were matched with a python print jacket.
“I love this look because you can wear it during the day, and then at nighttime you can go out for dinner and take off the jacket and you have a beautiful silk top underneath,” Taylor said.
Look #2: The second look was a long black bustier gown with texture and detail such as little studs and lace.
“It’s for our customers who want to feel classic and chic and beautiful, but have something a little extra going on there,” Taylor said.
Taylor is originally from New Zealand and got her start dressing puppets for New Zealand Director Peter Jackson. Today her customers include some of the top celebrities.
Kaley O’Kelley asked Taylor what it’s like to dress Hollywood actors and big stars.
“Kate [Middleton] was really a dream come true. And I wasn’t really aware of it till the morning that she wore that outfit,” Taylor said.
