PHOENIX -- 600 homeless animals could find new families this weekend at a giant pet adoption event.
PetSmart Charities is teaming up with 3TV to host the Phoenix Pet Adoption Event at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum at the Arizona State Fairgrounds.
Joice Wirkus of PetSmart Charities joined Javier Soto on Good Morning Arizona Friday with a few furry freinds to preview the event.
"We're going to have more than 1,000 pets available," says Wirkus.
This weekend's event is also for people who already have dogs and cats. Pet owners can take advantage of free mobile spay and neuter clinics and low-cost rabies vaccinations. Those services will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
"Not only do we have tons of dogs and cats to choose from, we also have a free spay and neuter service, put on by Maricopa County, we're going to have discounted vaccinations, and $10 microchipping," Wirkus tells us.
And don't miss out on the fun events like the pet and owner photo booth, Purina dog performances, and the dozens of vendors who will be on site selling pet items.
The PetSmart Charities Phoenix Pet Adoption Event will be held at 1826 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix. I(Inside Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum). Hours are Saturday, March 16 from10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 10 from10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
