MESA, Ariz. -- Clad in a distinctive frilly pink tutu, Arizona Department of Corrections Officer John Risch will be calling the roof of the Krispy Kreme 6626 E. Superstition Springs in Mesa his home for the next couple of days.

As 3TV's Tess Rafols explains, it's his annual fundraiser for Heroes Special Olympic Athletes.

Risch, who coaches Special Olympics baseball, has been doing this for six years.

Wearing the pink tutu started out as a dare, but it's since became a thing. Risch is now known for his tutu and he's more than happy to put it on if it means more money for Special Olympics Arizona.

"I'll play it up all I can," he said.
