TEMPE, Ariz. -- Buffalo Wild Wings is opening its 700th restaurant in the United States, and they're doing it in Tempe. To celebrate, the restaurant will giving the first 100 people through the door free wings for a year.They will also be having a drawing every evening for the next seven days. Those drawing winners will also be treated to free wings for a year.
Tess Rafols headed out to Buffalo Wild Wings to chat with people who are camping out -- despite record-breaking heat -- in hopes of winning those free wings.
"The opening of our 700th location is a significant accomplishment for Buffalo Wild Wings. We're incredibly proud to reach this milestone, and I thank the entire team for their dedication and efforts to deliver the unique Buffalo Wild Wings experience every day," commented Sally Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buffalo Wild Wings in a news release. "We are excited to continue adding new locations that bring our award-winning wings to the Phoenix and Tempe communities as we move closer to our goal of more than 1,000 locations across the country."
As part of the Tempe opening celebration, the restaurant will donate a portion of sales from its preseason training nights to the Veteran Ticket Foundation, a local charity that gives free sporting event tickets to Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families as a way of saying thank you.
The Tempe Buffalo Wild Wings is located at 705 S. Rural Road, Suite 101; it will open at 11 a.m. on Sept. 20.
This is the 17th Buffalo Wild Wings in Arizona.
