PHOENIX -- Mathew Blades of Phoenix radio station Mix 96.9 snagged an interview with a friend of Charlie Sheen.
He shared from of the highlights of his chat with Bob Maron, the first person @CharlieSheen followed on Twitter.
"Charlie and me have been buddies for a long time," Maron told Blades. "I'm a guy who sells pretty important watches and he's got pretty good taste so we've done business together for quite awhile and we're also pretty good friends."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sheen set the Guinness World Record for fastest time to reach 1 million Twitter followers. With some assistance and direction from a company called Ad.ly, which specializes in celebrity endorsements in social media, he did it in 25 hours and 17 minutes.
Sheen already holds another world record -- highest paid TV actor per episode. He currently makes $1.8 million per episode, and has demanded a raise to $3 million per episode.
CBS and Warner Bros. Television canceled the season's remaining eight episodes of "Two and a Half Men," in the wake of what they call Sheen's erratic behavior.
Sheen reportedly has said that behind-the-scene negotiations are close to putting the show back on the air.
