PHOENIX -- If you've got some love to give, Abigail the dog might be for you!

The sweet retriever/lab mix is up for adoption at the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) , and she made an appearance on Tuesday's Good Morning Arizona.

The dog is five years old and loves to play."She's still got that energy where she likes camping, hiking and swimming, but she's a little more settled," says Michelle Ramos of the AAWL.

Abigail would fit in best with an active family that would take her hiking and on long runs. She is well-behaved and knows some commands. She needs to be the only dog in a home.

By the way, the AAWL just received a big award. The organization was chosen as Phoenix New Times Best Place for Your Kid to Learn How to be a Vet.

"We have a number of vet programs, after school, camp programs," says Ramos. "Kids can come in, get hands-on,learn how to suture, watch surgeries. So we're super excited to get that award. We worked really hard to get there."

You can contact the AAWL online or by calling 602-273-6852. The Pet Match Adoption Center is located at 25 N. 40th Street in Phoenix.
