SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Start your engines, Valley residents!

Octane Raceway recently moved from Phoenix to a larger, 65,000-square-foot building in the Pavilions at Talking Stick.

All you need to bring is your lead foot. Octane provides the rest.

The lobby still has race cars and the snack bar, but it also has gone through some major upgrades. Part of the track goes outdoors, and the karts are now electric.

"They're fast, they're responsive, and they accelerate well," said owner Scott Sanders.

The track puts your skills to the test, whether you're a beginner or old pro.

"What's impressive to me is that professional drivers who have never been on this track, they come in and they're fast from Lap 1," Sanders said. "There's something different about the skill set they bring to the table."

An "arrive and drive" race starts at $19.95. Octane opens daily at 11 a.m., and closes at 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, midnight on Friday and Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday.
