PHOENIX -- It's almost time to pull out the brown paper bags and fill them lunch items for kids heading back to school. But how do you make sure your child's lunch ends up in his or her stomach and not in the trash can?

Studies show children who eat breakfast and a healthy lunch perform better on academic tests and that junk-food lunches cause potential health issues such as obesity, diabetes and early-onset hypertension.

Dr. Jennifer Willis, a family practices physician at Banner Health Center - Verrado and a mom of three, shares some tips for what to pack for a healthy lunch.

Banner Health Centers take care of your primary care medical needs with locations in communities across the Valley.
