PHOENIX -- Monday is National Dog Day, so what better day to think about adopting a new pet?

Shannon Nalley and Emilie Sinur with the Arizona Animal Welfare League brought the GMAZ crew a few furry friends who are looking for new homes.

First up, we met Ashley and Peanut, who both came from the same home. They were surrendered by their owner.

"Ashley is a sweet, mellow girl," says Sinur. "She's about five years old. And her brother Peanut here is about two years old."

The dogs are very attached to each other, so the AAWL is doing an adoption special. "It's $200 for the both of them," says Nalley. "That includes all of their spay/neuter, all of the micro-chipping, all of their vaccines. And it includes a collar and leash set for both of them."

Next, we met Palomino, a playful two-year-old Chihuahua mix who's up for adoption.

"She likes treats. She's good in the house. She seems to be good with all dogs," Sinur says. "Someone at the shelter took her home, and she seems to be friendly with cats. She's potty-trained. She liked her car ride. So I think she'll make someone a really good forever friend."
