PHOENIX -- Everything must go at the Phoenix Motor Company, but this sale is not about the cars.
Sam Luft of the Phoenix Motor Company said operations are moving from Third Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Scottsdale. As a result, the company is holding four auctions to sell off its entire inventory, including furniture, plants and tools.
The first auction finishes Thursday at 7 p.m. as the company sells its furniture from the sales area, Luft said. The next auction will sell the tools from the paint shop and body works, and the last two will sell off the remaining furniture.
The auctions are open to the public through the website AuctionNation.net, he said, and all bidding will start at $5. People can visit the old building to preview everything that will be sold.
The Phoenix Motor Company had been located in its building for more than 50 years and it has been renamed Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale. A potential buyer is currently negotiating for the old building, according to Luft.
