PHOENIX -- When it comes to cooking in 2014, the key word is "fresh." It's all about fresh ingredients and fresh ways of putting them together.

This year's Ripe Award winners, Danielle Leoni of The Breadfruit and Jesse Hansen of Proof Cantina at the Four Seasons, shared some of their pro tips and trends with 3TV's Yetta Gibson.

Each year, a Ripe crop of five culinary masters is recognized for continually elevating the Valley's dining scene. Leoni and Hansen -- along with Justin Beckett of Beckett's Table; Matt Carter of Zinc Bistro, The Mission, The House Brasserie and Zinc Brasserie; and Gio Osso of Virtù -- will be honored at a tasting event Thursday evening.
